I didn’t take any pics of my tacos here because I thought I had finished my taco hunt at this point. Boy, was I wrong.

Guisado’s is the bomb. When we were getting driven to the hotel from the airport, we asked our driver where to get the best Mexican food. He said to go to Guisado’s, and he did not steer us wrong. They are touted as the best tacos in Los Angeles, and it is a title well deserved.

Price: $3/taco (non-seafood tacos are $2.50/taco)

Fish: white fish (I can’t remember what kind), shrimp (camarones)

Extras:

  • WHITE FISH: Served atop black beans, topped with cabbage, avocado/ cilantro cream, chile arbol, and pico de gallo.
  • CAMARONES: Fajita-style shrimp, onions and bell peppers served with a mild chipotle sour cream.

Review: Both tacos were amazing. My mouth was having a huge party at Guisado’s, and my taste for tacos is ruined forever. These guys make their tortillas fresh. I mean, so fresh that you are watching them roll out the dough as you are standing in line. The tortillas are small, but dense and deliciously chewy. I can’t even describe how awesome it tastes. Be careful, though; my eyes were bigger than my stomach, and I ordered too many tacos, thinking I would be hungry with such small portions. Those tortillas fill you up.
