Where: Nora’s Taqueria, Philadelphia

Price: $2.50 per taco

Fish: tilapia

Extras: cabbage slaw & creamy chipotle

Review: This place wasn’t even on our list of places to stop for tacos, but after we found the last place closed for the week (thanks, El Fuego), we searched Google Maps to find something, ANYTHING, taco-related in Old City. Nora’s was the only one close to where we were going, so off we went.

I was pleasantly surprised! The fish was fresh, as well as the tortillas (and you know how much I like fresh tortillas). The creamy chipotle was the only thing that took points off…and even then, it wasn’t overpowering crema. They put just enough to flavor the taco without drowning it.

Part of me wanted to see a little bit of creativity, a flourish, if you will…but to be honest, I think they know how to do this taco really well and probably shouldn’t mess with it.
