Review: The last time we went on a beer/taco crawl through Philly we tried and failed to get in. Tonight it was less crowded but still pretty busy, especially considering how empty the city has been for Memorial Day. Of course, that has nothing to do with the taco, other than to say it increased my curiosity about this popular new spot.
The only fish tacos available were battered (with Tecate) and fried, so points already began getting taken off even before the tacos arrived.
Taste-wise…they were fine. Middle of the road, nothing too offensive (even though they used crema), and the presentation was really nice. The tortillas might have been fresh but it was hard to tell because they had been put on the grill to get pretty char-marks on the outside. That didn’t help the taste, unfortunately.
Would I order them again? Probably not, but the rest of the menu looked interesting, and I would definitely come back.
